I can see one reason Marky is attracted to Janise, her uninhibited emotional behavior. This must be exciting after being born and raised in our “flat affect” environment. Dad having been at the “portals of death” three times and struggling all his life for bread and board. And Mom having lost her dad when just a child then being raised by her depressed mother.
